The house was built in 1862 and served as a summer residence for the famous Beit-family. Oregon floors, high ceilings, the magnificent, unsurpassed Helderberg mountain and sea views as well as the private wine-cellar and honeymoon suite add to the elegance of this historic manor. A mountain stream, oaks and palm-trees contribute to the tranquillity of the unspoiled garden.
Come and experience true South African hospitality around the log-fire in the Sir Alfred Beit lounge or on the patio of this beachfront guest house. The spacious, uniquely decorated bedrooms all have private entrances, TV(M-Net), DSTV, mini-bars, coffee & tea stations, mini-safes, dual-air-conditioning, sea and mountain views and some have fireplaces. A traditional English and health breakfast is served at the swimming pool (weather permitting ) or in the dining room.
Quality restaurants are within walking distance and golf courses, hiking trails, shopping malls and more beaches are easily accessible. 10 golf courses between 10 and 60 km away. Horse-riding, scuba diving, white shark diving, deep-sea fishing, picnic-baskets and sunset cruises arranged on request. Whale watching from the patio is possible between August and November. Airport transfers, car-hire and tours to wine and fruit farms arranged on request.
