Fish Hoek Lodge with Self-catering Apartments, Fish Hoek, South Peninsula, Cape Town, South Africa

This Fish Hoek lodge offers self-catering apartments, comprising of one, two and three bedrooms, in quaint Fish Hoek on the South Peninsula near Cape Town, South Africa. The guest lodge offers truly unparalleled views of Fish Hoek beach, Sunny Cove and the blue expanse of False Bay encircled by the distant Hottentots Holland Mountains.

The vacation rental apartments are fully equipped for comfortable self-catering accommodation with magnificent sea views and False Bay whale watching. The shallow, protected waters of False Bay are ideal for swimming and water sports, and ultimately for False Bay's more famous visitors, the Southern Right Whales. These gentle creatures arrive in June to calve and mate; and nurse their young until their departure in November.

The familiar sight of a whale tail brings whale lovers crowding onto the rocks at Sunny Cove, eager to observe these giant mammals literally only metres away. A nocturnal sound familiar to guests of the Lodge is the heavy, echoing breathing of the whales wallowing close to the protective shores!

The open plan kitchens are fitted with microwave and convection ovens, three-plate hob and fridge/freezer. The kitchens are also stocked with the necessary utensils, crockery and cutlery. Linen is provided and the apartments are serviced daily (excepting weekends and public holidays).

The well-appointed, sunny lounges (with multi-channel television) lead straight through large sliding doors onto the private balconies fronting the apartments.

The Lodge lies perched over Jager's Walk - known locally as "The Cat Walk" - which is a scenic path built right on the rocks at the water's edge. A five minute stroll beside the sea will take you from Sunny Cove and it's tiny railway platform, to Fish Hoek beach and on to the village centre.

Fish Hoek beach is noted for it's safe bathing, while the uninterrupted 1.5 km stretch of sand is perfect for beachcombing walks. The overhanging mountain bluffs surrounding Fish Hoek keep the waters protected and calm, which is why Fish Hoek hosts many sporting events such as yachting regattas, life guard competitions and sea kayaking - all of which can be observed from the comfort of the Lodge balconies!
